Diagnostic Imaging

Diagnostic imaging includes the procedures that are performed to make a “picture” of the internal organs of your pet. This picture can be produced by x‐ray digital image, or by sonographic waves (ultrasound) reflected off internal organs.

The image produced is then interpreted according to the clinical signs and the medical history of your cat or dog. Diagnostic imaging is an invaluable tool in diagnosing a multitude of medical and surgical conditions.

Imagine diagnosing any of the following without the technology that we have available to us.

Orthopedic: fractures, dislocations, growth abnormalities, cancer, infection

Cardiology: cardiomyopathy, valvular disorders, pericardial disorders

Thoracic: infections, inflammations, cancer of lungs and thorax; pneumothorax, hemothorax,
ruptured diaphragm

Abdominal: ultrasound guided biopsy for specific diagnosis of liver, kidney and splenic diseases; kidney stones, urinary bladder stones, gall bladder stones, pancreatic disease, cancers

Oral: tooth root abscesses, fractured jaw, fractured tooth, cavities, periodontitis

More specialized imaging is available at referral centers. This includes MRI, CT scanning, myelography (contrast studies of the spinal canal) and many more.

We have digitalized our x‐ray system for fast, chemical free results. We have also updated our blood analysis laboratory for fast and accurate readings of the function of internal organs.

If you think something may be wrong with your pet, don’t hesitate to book an appointment with us.
